Monthly Giving

Did you know that monthly giving is an extremely efficient way to support the Ability Housing? Monthly giving is a way for dedicated friends like you to make monthly gifts that provide a reliable and consistent income stream, allowing us to focus more resources on our life altering programs, and less on raising the necessary funds. Members like it because it’s easy to budget and it feels great to be making a difference every month of the year.

Planned Giving

Ability Housing relies upon your goodwill. There are a number of easy giving options from which you can choose – from naming us as a beneficiary in your will to a more complex trust arrangement. Join the Independence Club and ensure independent living for years to come.

Make a tax-free gift from your IRA.

Bequests
The most common form of planned giving is a bequest. Simple wording in a will adds Ability Housing as the recipient of an amount or percentage of an estate. The value of the gift at death is deductible from estate taxes.

Charitable Remainder Trust or Charitable Gift Annuity
A Charitable Remainder Trust or Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple method of making a gift to Ability Housing and establishing a lifetime income for the donor. These gifts can be funded by cash or appreciated assets such as securities or real estate and can result in an income tax deduction.

Charitable Lead Trust
A Charitable Lead Trust is similar to a Charitable Remainder Trust, however, Ability Housing receives the earnings from the asset placed in trust for a period of years. After that time, the principal is returned to the donor or other designated person. Can result in income tax deduction.

Life Insurance
Donors can designate Ability Housing as beneficiary of their life insurance. If Ability Housing is the owner of the policy, the premiums are tax deductible.

Honor & Memorial Giving

Make an Honor or Memorial Gift to Ability Housing. An Honor Gift is a wonderful way to celebrate the special people and events in your life. A Memorial Gift is a beautiful testimony to the life of a beloved and respected person who has passed on. Give the gift of a place to live for our community’s most vulnerable residents.
